Lime bikes were introduced to Dallas in 2017 and quickly became a fun and easy way to traverse the city streets. Now the Dallas streets and sidewalks have a new means of travel, electric scooters. The Lime-S Electric Scooter, 20 + mile range, a 250 watt motor, and a max speed of 14.8 mph ( I got mine to 18) make for a phenomenal way to zip through Dallas’s hot summer streets. To ride, one must download the Lime app, add your debit/credit card info, scan the QR code on the bike, then off you go! For $1 for every 30 minuets (this includes the activation fee) you can have a fun spur of the moment ride or a speedy trip to find your friends at the bar. Go out and have fun!

The scooters are a fun way to get to where you need to be or one can use them to just cruse the city streets.

Around the City at the Jersey Shore

The quaint summer town of Seaside Heights rest on the narrow Barnegat Peninsula which acts as a the bay's protective shield against the fierce Atlantic Ocean. In the summer months, the small borough's  population of 30,000 jumps to 65,000.

The Jersey shore has been immortalized by television and movies throughout the ages. It's beautiful shoreline, bright lights, wild clubs, and enticing arcades have attracted tourists from all walks of life. No matter what background they come from, they all visit with the hope of getting a taste of the Jersey Shore lifestyle. I grew up in Texas yet I spent many an idyllic summer on the Jersey Shore boardwalk, falling in love with the people, the experience, and the energy of the shore. This photo series covers both the summer and winter seasons in the famed coastal town.

During the off season, the rides are stripped for maintenance leaving only a skeleton of the true framework of the shore.

My good friend and model Fiona MacKenzie graced us with her warm and collective presence as we ventured down the boardwalk.

Even though it has changed appearances multiple times over the years due to fires and hurricanes such as Sandy, the Sawmill has been the first or last stop on a days venture to the boardwalk. With an obstructed view of the ocean from the bar and a classic boardwalk menu that includes their famous 27" pizza, the Sawmill is the place to be.

The Coin Castle and Lucky Leo's are some of the only arcades on the boardwalk that stay open all year long and provide comfortable shelter with air conditioning in the sweltering summer as well as heat in the cold northern winters. Sadly these testaments of the past have slowly been shrinking in size and taken over by bars and restaurants to better fit the needs of today's tourists.
